Fresh figs turn into a delicate ingredient to make a savoury tapa. The combination of the mellow flavour of the figs with salty ingredients like bacon and cheese can become a lush tapa.
I had fresh figs and wanted to do something special with them.
I didn’t feel like baking a cake. I was looking for something different so I decided to cook a savoury “tapa”.
I cut slim slices of bacon, spread sheep’s cheese on them and wrapped the figs. I cut small rounds of puff pastry, put the wrapped figs on top and baked them in the oven for 10 minutes.
The sweetness of the figs contrasts with a subtle bitter touch from the cheese. Absolutely delicious!
