The BEST easy sangria recipe (and not too sweet)

Two glasses of sangria, with a slice of orange, lemon and mint.

My favourite sangria recipe

This is my favourite and, probably, the best and easiest sangria recipe you can try. It condenses all the flavours of the red wine and the macerated fruits AND it´s not too sweet. This is an important point as sangria doesn´t have to be overly sweet. I´m not a sweet tooth person but I don´t find a very sweet sangria interesting as it loses the freshness and fruity hints that characterize this red wine cocktail.

I use this recipe for my Online Sangria and Paella Cooking Class and it´s a big hit! People love it!

Perfect drink in summer

Sangria is a festive and fun drink, perfect for scorching days. You probably have had it with paella in Spain, right? They are the perfect combo. But you can have it with tapas or other dishes like fish or even a barbecue. Why not? Or just with some snacks as an aperitif before dinner.

It´s quick to prepare as it takes just 10 minutes to prepare the juice and chop the fruit but I always recommend keeping it in the fridge for a minimum of 2 hours so all the ingredients blend enhancing flavours. So it´s very easy to prepare ahead and have ready. If you are organizing a dinner party, just prepare the sangria in the afternoon and it will be perfect (flavor-wise and temperature-wise) when your guests arrive.

Just a sip of sangria and you can taste and smell those hot, relaxing days, on a beach on holidays! However, you don´t have to be in Spain to enjoy this red wine cocktail. Try this recipe and you will feel like in Spain! And don’t forget to toast with a glass of sangria and say “¡chin, chin!”.

¡Buen provecho!
