Canape beetroot hummus, tikka chicken and soured cream
A simple canape you can replicate at home and treat your guests!
For the beetroot hummus:
- A small can of chickpeas
- 100 g cooked beetroot
- 1 clove of garlic (peeled)
- 1 tablespoon of tahini
- 1/2 lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- A pinch of cumin
- A pinch of salt
- 100 g tikka chichen
- Soured cream
- Crackers (I used beetroot and sesame seeds cracker but you can use any other kind you like)
Step by step
For the hummus, just blend all the ingredients in a blender until you get a smooth texture.
Crumble the tikka chicken in small pieces.
With a butter knife, spread a generous amount of beetroot hummus over the cracker. Put some tikka chicken pieces on top. Decorate with a small drop of soured cream and some cress leaves or any other green herbs.
If you don’t have much time, you can buy the hummus already made in a supermarket and blend it with the beetroot.
For the chicken, if you roast a chicken, you can use the leftovers to make canapes like this one. Just chop finely the leftovers and season them with your favourite herbs and seasons. That way, you can have different flavours and make the most of the leftovers.
