Yes, the second edition of my pop-up dinner is coming soon!
This time it will be on Wednesday 23th of April. So, join me at Saint George’s Day feast!
An important date for me is Saint George’s Day: the patron saint of my region in Spain, Aragón, and the National Day of England. Bearing in mind that I have been “adopted” in Cambridge, I have a double reason to celebrate it!
Besides, 23rd of April isWorld Book Day, a date celebrated for the first time in Spain in 1923 to honour the writer Miguel de Cervantes, author of The Quixote, who died on that day. And William Shakespeare died the same day too. Another link between Spain and England for Saint George’s day!
In my region, people will celebrate this day by going out in the morning to the book market to buy a book, having an “aperitif” with tapas in a “bar” and having lunch with family or friends and tasting the special dessert for this day, “Saint George’s lance”.
So, there are too many things to celebrate that day and although it is not a bank holiday here, we may organize something special to remember this festivity. What about a Spanish spring feast dinner with some dishes from my region?
